Hi, I’m so glad you're here. My name is Allison Barton, and I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and founder of Sonder Psychiatric Services. My practice is based in Madison, WI. I've worked in psychiatry since 2015, including as an RN in a Madison-based inpatient psychiatric unit.

I provide both therapy and psychiatric medication management. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment used to treat conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and panic disorders. I have extensive experience working with individuals facing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and substance use disorders. In my approach to medication management, I aim to minimize the number of medications a person takes by utilizing known medication side effects effectively. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients and their families can openly share their vulnerabilities and experiences. I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions. Please note that all initial intake appointments must be conducted in person.
